Welcome

Hello, Hunter, and welcome to Pikipedia! If you need ideas on how to help, please see the helping out page. For a beginner's guide on how to edit pages, check out the quick start guide. Finally, if you'd like to chat with other editors, there's a Discord server. Thanks for joining, and we hope you enjoy your stay! — Soprano(talk) 01:13, April 11, 2024 (EDT)

Previewing edits

When editing a page, please use the "Show preview" button next to the "Save changes" button to see how that edit looks on the page before saving it. It avoids making repeated edits which fill up the page history. — Soprano(talk) 00:30, April 12, 2024 (EDT)

Wiki editing

Thank you for showing interest in helping the wiki! Unfortunately, many of your edits have had problems which needed to be corrected by others. I recommend reading Help:Editing for information on how wiki formatting works, and Pikipedia:Helping out for various resources for beginning editors. — Soprano(talk) 22:56, April 13, 2024 (EDT)

Pikmin Adventure enemies

I see you've been creating articles for Pikmin Adventure enemies, and I'm going to ask you to stop doing this because this is a large change that hasn't been agreed upon yet. The discussion in Talk:Pikmin Adventure enemies has not reached a conclusion, and it's not a good idea to start doing a large-scale project like this until a decision has been made about it. — Soprano(talk) 18:40, May 17, 2024 (EDT)

Re:Template:Excerpt

I like the enthusiasm, but are you sure you want to tackle that? It's a big project, and it's better to have help than not. It would help if you also have a good handle on what you're doing; with all due respect, I saw you were having trouble even with the {{columns}} template on its page. I guess if you're really pressed to do this, discussing what all to include would be a good idea. Of course, there are enemies, treasures, and fruits, but that's a lot of excerpts to place already, not even considering there are multiple notes covering each individual one. ~ Contributions Cheepy (talk)  08:49, May 29, 2024 (EDT)

Well, I understand where you're coming from, but I think I can do it. By the way, can you explain what {{columns}} does? - User:Hunter
Template:Columns makes it easier to split a list into multiple columns. The first parameter sets the number of columns, and the second parameter is the actual list. You can read more about it at its template page. But on the topic of Template:Excerpt, I'll note that the changes you've been making to the template page so far are actually just to the template documentation, and not the actual template itself. This is a complex template, and so it helps to be familiar with technical wiki features when editing it. Reviving it will be a big project – it involves looking through every single note on the wiki, in order to select a set of interesting notes that could be displayed on the Main Page. And it can't even be done right now, because Pikmin 4 notes haven't been added to the wiki's notes system, because of uncertainty over the future of Template:Notes. Only once that is worked out can this project be done. — Soprano(talk) 21:26, May 30, 2024 (EDT)

Replying to old conversations

Hey, just want to let you know that on some talk pages, you've been replying to very old conversations, and you've left comments on user talk pages of people who haven't edited the wiki in over a decade. You're very unlikely to get a reply when doing this. I recommend checking page histories and user contributions when writing talk page messages. — Soprano(talk) 23:15, June 1, 2024 (EDT)

Re:Icons

Well of course. You just put a link to an image like anywhere else on the wiki. My only problem is that there's no "nosubst" template stopping the signature's raw coding from being put on a page. ~ Contributions Cheepy (talk)  09:55, June 2, 2024 (EDT)
