The Long-Shot Totem is a treasure in Pikmin 4. It is a blue 12-sided die with each of the 12 astrological symbols on the faces.

Collecting the treasure

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

Plunder Palace

There is a Long-Shot Totem atop a very tall platform near the north of sublevel 1 of the Plunder Palace. To collect this treasure, you must use a rush with Oatchi on one of the platform's supporting pillars to cause it to fall down. Then, throw 2 Pikmin at it. A nearby Breadbug may attempt to steal it, in which case you will need to either damage it or best it in tug-of-war.

Ultimate Testing Range

It is lying on the ground at the north of sublevel 1 of the Ultimate Testing Range. It is guarded by a Venom Dweevil, and a second Venom Dweevil will drop from the ceiling when you approach it, both of which should be defeated before attempting to collect it. To collect this treasure, you must throw 2 Pikmin at it.

Notes

Schnauz's notes

Rolling this stone so that it lands on the specific symbol you want is no easy task. Twelve sides is a lot of sides! Why even try? But when you do at last get the symbol you hoped for—what a thrill! It's sure to keep you trying again and again.

Olimar's notes

I've lived through some harrowing events, and the trick to surviving in space is to prepare for every possible situation. But this is technically and literally impossible. Sometimes you just need to roll the dice, hope for the best, and let the universe do its thing.

Louie's notes

Only useful when deciding between 12 or less options for your next meal.
