Javascript woes
Hey. There have been a few difficulties with our scripts lately. Mostly in the sense of scripts that used to be running weren't running any more. I changed some things, and now almost everything is up, except for the MediaWiki:PikipediaUpload.js script. From the little that I can gather, Common.js isn't even running on Special:Upload. What can you tell me about this? — {EspyoT} 09:09, 6 November 2016 (EST)
- Fixed it! --Porplemontage (talk) 11:48, 6 November 2016 (EST)
Question
Im curious what the first edit on this Wiki was. On what page was it? TabuuandPeach 18:28, 24 November 2016 (EST)
- Well, I guess this was the first non-bot edit. --Porplemontage (talk) 22:34, 24 November 2016 (EST)
Mobile captcha problems
Hey. A user found a problem while editing the wiki under mobile: link. Basically, when trying to save, the wiki asks for a "confirmation code" (captcha, I'm guessing?) but there's no such thing anywhere.
It doesn't look like this is anon-user triggered, since anonymous users can't even edit the wiki under mobile. That's also another thing – since under desktop, users can edit without an account, why can't they under mobile? If you could make anons able to edit under mobile, that'd be great, but if not, don't sweat it. I think it's more important to have the code problem solved. Me and Marty also tried to edit using smartphones, but we were never asked for such a code, so maybe this only applies to non-autoconfirmed users.
Oh, and a final thing. Do you mind if I send the older conversations here into an archive subpage? Your talk page is getting pretty heavy! — {EspyoT} 15:23, 27 December 2016 (EST)
- Ok yeah, it looks like the captcha extension and mobile extension aren't playing well together. You're correct, autoconfirmed users would skip it, but now I've made it so all users skip it. We do need the captcha for anons though, so we can't enable mobile anon editing. Archive away! --Porplemontage (talk) 15:43, 27 December 2016 (EST)
Parse error on Pikmin Fanon
Hey there Porple. Pikmin Fanon has been unavailable for over 24 hours because of a parse error, which reads:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';', expecting ')' in /home/pikminfa/public_html/LocalSettings.php on line 384
I thought if I gave it time, it would go away on its own, but... Could you resolve this? Thanks. ~PikFan23 16:58, 29 January 2017 (EST)
- Fixed it, thanks! --Porplemontage (talk) 16:59, 29 January 2017 (EST)
Unpatrollable uploads
Hey. If an image is uploaded, and then a new version is uploaded on top, it'll become impossible to mark the first revision as patrolled. You can find examples on the recent changes with the farthest filter. Do you think you can do something about this glitch so that it doesn't happen again? Thanks! — {EspyoT} 15:06, 14 February 2017 (EST)
- This is a bug that would need to be fixed in MediaWiki core, where we'd get the fix in a future software update. I've reported it here - we'll see what happens! --Porplemontage (talk) 15:49, 14 February 2017 (EST)
- Well, I rebuilt recent changes to see if those unpatrollable log entries would go away. Turned out it had some adverse effects - sorry! --Porplemontage (talk) 15:21, 15 February 2017 (EST)
