Overview of the Silver Lake with marked areas of interest.
The overview of the Battle Enemies! version of the stage.

Silver Lake is a map in Pikmin 3's Mission Mode. It is a very snowy area with many bodies of water. It is based off of the Distant Tundra, and there is both a Collect Treasure! and a Battle Enemies! variant.

The leaf texture used in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode menu. (Used on Pikipedia in the {{stub}} template.)

Suggestions:

  • Add an Overview and Key sections sections, like on the area article policy.
  • Add guides.
  • List what maturity each Pikmin starts at on the infobox.

The players start off in a circular snowy area. Behind the starting area is a small alcove, where some Purple Pikmin are buried. Most treasures in that area, like a Face Wrinkler, are heavy, so it makes sense that the Purples were placed there.

From there, a dirt path extends around the perimeter of the stage. Along the path, there are two electric gates. The first one closes off holding valuable buried treasures, such as an Insect Condo and a Golden Grenade. Along the path, there are various small piles of Nuggets, which can easily be obtained with White Pikmin. Also along the path is a small peninsula with many buried White Pikmin as well as another large pile of Nuggets. At the end of the path is a large elevated area, home to many treasures and a pile of Nuggets. From there, a leader can be thrown back to the starting point.

From the peninsula starts the major water portion of the level. Nearby are 4 Skeeterskates, which can pose a threat to any Pikmin carrying objects and collecting Nuggets. It is advised to take care of them before collecting the objects. In the large body of water are where many of the Blue Pikmin are planted. A raised platform also holds some Blue Pikmin, but a leader must be thrown onto it from around the dirt path area. Further north will reveal a large, seemingly empty body of water, holding nothing but a pile of Nuggets and a Face Wrinkler. It should be noted that Blue Pikmin can be thrown from the bridge to collect the Nuggets in advance.

Along that path is a submerged dirt wall. Past the dirt wall is a large body of water holding a pile of Nuggets, a Sunseed Berry, a Golden Sunseed, an Insect Condo, and a Face Wrinkler, all guarded by a lone Water Dumple. These treasures often take a long amount of time to collect, so it is advised to start collecting them beforehand. This body of water is located right to the area with buried Purple Pikmin, which leads right back to base.

This time, the player starts out at the blue Onion, which is in a body of water at the near center of the map. Onions are present on this stage, meaning the number of Pikmin can be increased. To the north of the blue Onion is the pink Onion, and the location of 10 Winged Pikmin. A leader must be thrown onto the higher ground to access the Onion; the same applies to the yellow Onion, located south of the blue one. Near the blue Onion is a pile of fragments lying on a high pillar, requiring Winged Pikmin. The bridge built from these fragments leads to an area with 2 Watery Blowhogs. Beyond them is a bamboo gate guarding a circular area home to a Burrowing Snagret.

East of the blue Onion is a Arctic Cannon Larva and several Water Dumples. This area is no longer covered in water, unlike the Collect treasure! version. The Cannon Larva can be very troublesome to Pikmin carrying back corpses, so make sure to deal with it early. Past the Arctic Cannon Larva is the same dirt path. Going to the left will result in reaching an electric gate, which guards the area where 2 Bearded Amprats and a cluster of Bomb Rocks reside. Going further will reach a dirt wall, guarding the path to the pink Onion.

To the left of the Cannon Larva is a Bulborb, and eventually, a dirt wall. Behind the dirt wall is the yellow Onion and a few Yellow Pikmin. Up the large spiral-like structure are a pile of yellow Fragments. That bridge will lead to the same area with the Watery Blowhogs, and is much shorter than the blue one. A Bulborb is found right outside of the yellow Onion.

To the southwest of the blue Onion is a large body of water, which is home to a Toady Bloyster and 3 Sputtlefish. These creatures are rather easy to defeat, so defeating them early is essential. Their corpses are also good for building up the Blue Pikmin population to take on the group of Water Dumples to the northwest of the blue Onion. There are 3 in the bunch, so a large group of Pikmin will be needed to take them out.
