The Pikmin series currently consists of three games, Pikmin, Pikmin 2, and Pikmin 3. (Pikmin and Pikmin 2 also have a New Play Control! variations on the Nintendo Wii) The first two games have been scored well by critics, the sequal generally higher than Pikmin. Pikmin 3 is already released in Japan, and will be released July 26th in Europe, July 27th in Australia, and August 4th in the North America.
Elements from the series also play parts in a number of other Nintendo games, most notably Super Smash Bros. Brawl, in which Captain Olimar is a playable character, and Nintendo Land, which features a Pikmin game titled Pikmin Adventure.
