Several pack items.
Several pack items in a bunch.

In Pikmin 4, several items can be used whilst out exploring the many areas of PNF-404. These items are all stored in the pack, which can be accessed at any time during gameplay. Most of the items can be purchased from Russ at the lab, but a handful can be obtained by other means.

Purchasing[edit]

The majority of items in the pack need to be purchased from Russ at the lab, accessible at the start of each day in the Rescue Command Post. Each purchase costs a certain amount of raw material, depending on the item, except for the first purchase of a given item, since Russ calls that one a prototype and hands it out for free. Every morning, Russ will have some items available for sale, but only up to a limited amount, meaning that if the player wants more, they have to find it in some other way or buy more the next day. The Survey Drone, Idler's Alert, and Homesick Signal are one-time purchases, and are added as devices to the pack for use whenever the player wishes.

Using[edit]

During gameplay, the player can open the action menu and choose the right option, the pack, to open it. This opens a further menu from which the player can choose what to use. Once they select, the item gets used right away, or is placed on the leader's hands to be thrown.

List of items[edit]
