Subterranean Tyrant (ちていの ぼうくん?, lit.: "Underground tyrant") is the boss battle area in the Sparkling Labyrinth. It's here that the player faces off against the Armurk.

The following article or section is in need of assistance from someone who plays Hey! Pikmin.
Particularly: Fill in the music in the infobox.

Plot[edit]

When the player completes The Burning Sky, a cutscene plays with Captain Olimar inside the S.S. Dolphin II. In it, the ship announces that it got a reading on both a large creature and a large treasure, and advices Olimar to be careful before proceeding into this area. When the player completes the boss battle, a similar cutscene plays, but the ship announces that it found a new sector, one that looks like a ruin of an old civilization, and the player is then pointed to the Ravaged Rustworks.

Description[edit]

The entire area takes place inside a rectangular den. Its floor is always the same height, and its ceiling is always visible on the top screen, just a bit below the HUD elements. The den spans roughly 2 screens wide. To note however, is that the camera is zoomed out a bit compared to normal.

Cutscenes[edit]

Cutscene Screenshot Trigger Description
Armurk introduction The Armurk cutscene in Subterranean Tyrant. The player moves a bit forward. Olimar walks forward, but notices some Pikmin show up behind him, running in his direction to try and keep up. They all bundle together in front of him, shaking and whimpering in fear. Olimar then turns around, examines the group at his back, and after a small earthquake, looks up to the ceiling. That's when he notices the Armurk hanging on to the ceiling. The creature shakes a bit, stomps the ceiling, and then falls down to the floor, spinning so that it lands belly-down, facing Olimar and the Pikmin. Some time after landing, the group starts very slowly backing up, the creature raises up, roars, and stomps on the ground.
