Nintendo is a video-game company that was founded in September 1889 as a manufacturer of a card game called Hanfuda. Nintendo gained popularity in the video game industry with the release of Donkey Kong. One of Nintendo's current products is the Pikmin series of games, which number two GameCube games along with their New Play Control! releases, and a third (Pikmin 3) on the way. These games are able to be played on two Nintendo's consoles, those being the Wii and GameCube. Other popular Nintendo franchises include Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Kirby, F-Zero, and Pokémon.
