The Eternal Fuel Dynamo (永久燃料ダイナモ?, lit.: "Eternal Fuel Dynamo") is a mandatory ship part in Pikmin, typically the second to be recovered. It is in The Forest of Hope and is surrounded by two Dwarf Bulborbs and a Spotty Bulborb, which Olimar can just sneak past, making it an easy part to obtain. The Eternal Fuel Dynamo provides Captain Olimar with infinite amounts of energy, so he doesn't have to use candles in order to conserve fuel. When collected, the part installs itself inside the ship, at the entry hatch's level. This is hard to see unless the ship is busted open, and becomes especially harder to see after collecting the Anti-Dioxin Filter.

Collecting the part[edit]

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

Destroy the white gate at the landing site and kill the Red Bulborb. Go northeast and kill the two Dwarf Red Bulborbs near the part. Have 40 Pikmin carry the part back. There should not be any problems finding it. When speedrunning, it is not necessary to kill the Bulborb, but is advisable for new players, or if you have low amounts of Pikmin. Beginning on day 5, there will be a second Bulborb in the area, which should be killed if the part hasn’t been collected yet.

Notes

Olimar's monologs

Why, it's the Eternal Fuel Dynamo!

It has an unlimited energy supply! I won't have to worry about saving electricity anymore! This will make my fight for survival a bit easier...

This should light things up. No more candles for me!

Trivia[edit]

  • The Eternal Fuel Dynamo is possibly based on the real-life Alternating Current Dynamo, a electricity-generating machine made by Nikola Tesla.
  • The Positron Generator is also an energy source, likely making one of the two pieces redundant.
  • The Revised Eternal Fuel Dynamo is likely a reference to this ship part's name.
  • Although supposedly carrying an unlimited energy supply, Olimar mentions in his notes on the Flame of Tomorrow that his people have never found anything close to a "perfectly clean, endlessly renewable energy source," suggesting that the Dynamo may not be as limitless as claimed.
    • It's also possible that by "an unlimited energy supply", Olimar meant that the machine had the capability to store an unlimited amount of energy, rather than generate it.
