I do know that Unmarked Spectralids can land on several creatures in the Piklopedia: when I started testing today, there were US around a Bulborb in the Piklopedia. I'm assuming they can also appear around Mamutas in the Piklopedia. As for in-game... I'm very sure they appear around Mamutas. I'll just edit and say that US can appear around Mamutas in both places, as that seems to be the truth.
