Dwarf Bulborb: Difference between revisions

'''Dwarf Bulborbs''' ({{j|コチャッピー|Ko Chappī|Small Chappy}}), named '''Dwarf Red Bulborbs''' ({{j|アカコチャッピー|Aka Ko Chappī|Red Small Chappy}}) in {{p2}}, are small, extremely common [[enemy|enemies]] in the {{Ps}}.

Dwarf Bulborbs strongly resemble juvenile [[Bulborb]]s. However, they are actually members of the [[breadbug family]], who mimic the appearance of Bulborbs to evade predation. They are rather weak and can be easily defeated by [[throw]]ing a single [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]] directly on top of them.  

Exclusive to the [[Pikmin (game)|first game]], pestering one for long enough will prompt it to scream for help, waking up the nearest Spotty Bulborb. They cannot wake up nearby adult Bulborbs in any other game.

Dwarf Bulborbs have far deeper-pitched cries in ''Pikmin 3'' and ''Pikmin 4''. They no longer can no longer sheik loudly, and instead emit deep, throaty sounds much like the Bulborbs in ''Pikmin 3'' do. This change makes little biological sense, as their smaller larynx should indeed produce a higher-pitched sound than that of a Red Bulborb.

Its skillful mimicry makes them appear at first glance to be nothing more than a parent and child.

 

Due to the nature of the original Breadbug, it is active during the daytime and returns to their nests at night.
