Uh...If I can ask, ISN'T OLIMAR'S JOURNAL ENTRY DIFFRENT IN THE GAME THEN THE ARTICLE? Bulborb63 00:14, 20 December 2010 (EST)

I have the PAL version and just confirmed that the text in the article is the same as the one in the game. Maybe the NTSC version is different? {EspyoT}
It matches the NTSC version. I don't know about the PAL GC version, but the PAL New Play Control version is different:
"What a perplexing fruit... It appears to possess two curiously conflicting traits. At times, consuming it can bring forth wonderful feelings of love and affection. At other times, it can completely suppress all romantic inclinations. Its unpredictable nature means that I must be careful with it. I'll also warn Louie, or else he's liable to try baking it in a pie."
Are you playing the Wii version? Miles 16:31, 20 December 2010 (EST)
Okay, the italics/quotation marks around the entries make it impossible to do this by making changes to the notes pages alone, so I'll have to modify the template. I'm thinking, since only NPC will differ, have /journal (NPC) and check for this in the template. GP

About Olimar's notes[edit]

While the notes do sound like they could describe the Burgeoning Spiderwort, I'm pretty sure that's a coincidence. The Japanese version of the notes says mostly the same as the English translation, but it's pretty obviously talking about the cherries (note that the treasure is called "Yabure Kabure" in Japanese):

1本の樹木が同じ外見の2種類の実をつける珍しい果樹。それぞれヤブレとカブレといい、恋愛本能を抑制する効果と恋愛本能を刺激する効果がある。見た目では区別がつかないのでイチかバチかの最後の手段として使うべきだろう。

A rare fruit tree in which one tree bears two types of fruit with the same appearance. They are called Yabure and Kabure, respectively, and have the effect of suppressing the love instinct and stimulating the love instinct. They are indistinguishable in appearance and should be treated as a last resort.

So while it makes sense to note how it appears to describe the Spiderwort, I disagree with extrapolating from that that the notes were intended for the Spiderwort, or with treating the Pikmin 4 notes as a mistake. 2 B (talk) 09:57, January 28, 2024 (EST)
