We don't know at the moment. As it stands, it seems like a retcon of {{p1}} completly, with a whole different set of events. We'll cross that bridge when the game comes out. --[[User:Bossclips|Bossclips]] ([[User talk:Bossclips|talk]]) 12:00, July 9th, 2023 (EST)

Nobody truly knows when Pikmin 4 takes place but there's a few things that provide some form of verification like the Piklopedia entry on dwarf bulborbs. There's also a few references to other games that occur before it such as the voyage log entry on yellow pikmin. Do you guys agree or do you have other evidence that proves me wrong?

What about Captain Olimar

Will he be in Pikmin 4? The preceding unsigned comment was added by CaptianOlimar321 • (talk) • (contribs)

At this point, we do not know for sure whether Captain Olimar will appear in Pikmin 4. However, on Pikipedia, it's not our job to speculate and theorize on what might be in Pikmin 4, it's our job to document what has been officially confirmed. — Soprano(talk) 20:54, December 8, 2022 (EST)

Dungeons

Underground areas like in Pikmin 2 appear to be in the game, namely one appearing at 2:02 in the newest trailer and an air vent shortly after that appears to be a replacement for geysers. The 'disco long legs' and Empress Bulblax may be fought as bosses in these - the arachnorb in particular has a bit of proof of this, because the camera turns to show the ship pod hovering nearby, meaning this is an underground arena sublevel similar to in Pikmin 2. It may be worth noting the return of dungeons in the article. I can't tell if the dungeons are randomly generated but during the Bulblax fight, the surrounding area certainly resembles the 'snap together' sort of style the 2 dungeons had, but with more ways to fit them together like that diagonal wall. There also appears to be a wall made of ice in the background - maybe extreme cold becomes a hazard only ice pikmin can brave?

It's also interesting to note that night exploration may be possible. The red-eye bulborb is obvious, but the area is also notably littered with glowing konpeito. Obviously its unclear if this is actually part of the main game or, say, a special challenge mode, but the candy wasn't present during the daytime. On a more personal note, I am so excited. The return of treasures and dungeons are everything I could have dreamed of!!! I hope there's at least enough to match the amount in 2, at minimum. One of my biggest gripes with Pikmin 3 (despite it being a stellar game in its own right) is the lack of dungeons and having a pretty bare-bones selection of collectibles. The fruits looked great, but there weren't very many of them and many were duplicates.

Enemy Size Variation

Is there reason to believe that there will be significant variation in the size of standard enemies? We now have evidence of an exceptionally large Wollywog as well as two different sized Peckish Aristocrabs. This is coupled with the seeming emphasis on different “stages” of an enemy lifecycle - the introduction of juvenile Snagrets and Bulborbs between the larvae and dwarf stages, as well as the return of Bulborb larvae in general. Is it reasonable to expect that we will see variants in standard enemy size throughout the game, with larger variations perhaps acting as mini bosses in certain locations?

Obviously this is speculation at this point so not worth adding to the article, just curious as to if others think this theory is plausible/likely? 67.69.69.8 14:22, June 25, 2023 (EDT)

Naming in the Character Creator

In the wiki is just written as unknown 3, icon a pencil, but this image is published by Nintendo Spain: It says "write your name", in spanish and is indeed located in the pencil icon, I thought that it could be used here, since it's officially published by Nintendo, even when is not in english, it's very clear what it means. --201.214.127.133 19:37, June 26, 2023 (EDT)

Early Leak

So apparently the game got leaked early as of today. Well see you all until the release date or never! (Note: I'm not sure if this is true or a hoax.) --Tardis17 (talk) 06:11, June 30, 2023 (EDT)

Edit: Oh when I mean the game, I mean the Entire game has been leaked.

Hey, don't worry about that here. We don't document leaked content. Supremekirbo (talk) 06:50, June 30, 2023 (EDT)

I know! That's why I'm going into hiding from Discord, Twitter, YouTube, Ect. Anything that involves the internet, so if you to say anything else before I leave do it or goodbye! --Tardis17 (talk) 06:54, June 30, 2023 (EDT)

timeline placement

Are we certain this game happened after pikmin 3? There is no actual evidence of the game's place in the timeline. As far as I know, that theory in which p4 is the follow up to a alternate p1 where olimar eventually crashed and turned into pikmar could be possible. Or maybe I missed something.
