Augmented reality, or AR, is a way to overlay content and information on top of real-world footage that a device's camera is capturing. In the Pikmin series, the following use augmented reality:
- AR Cards: Cards for the Nintendo 3DS that can be scanned to overlay models of Nintendo characters.
- Pikmin Bloom's AR mode: A mode in Pikmin Bloom that overlays the player's squad.
- Pikmin Finder: a mobile-browser-based game that uses the phone's camera to display Pikmin similarly to Pikmin Bloom's AR mode.
