- The 9 colors of paint in the series are the same 9 colors of Pikmin available. They also differ based on how long they've been in the series. For example, the red, blue, and yellow colored paint tubes are almost completely empty while the cyan and neon colors are almost completely full.
- The Refreshing Goo being slightly emptier than the Neon Goo could be a reference to how Ice Pikmin were first revealed in pre-release material months before Glow Pikmin.
