These Pikmin are able to carry explosive bomb-rocks which can be used to defeat enemies or bust gates, and are required to raze stone walls. Improper handling of bomb-rocks can result in accidental friendly fire, so caution is advised.
Pikmin 2

In both games, the Yellow Pikmin are light and can thrown very high, an ability which is needed to retrieve certain high-flung parts/treasures. Their ears apparently have aerodynamic properties, although they cannot run any faster than Red Pikmin or Blue Pikmin.
