Revision as of 12:22, October 19, 2020

Similar to my work on other wikis, this is a more organized and condensed version of all the maintenance categories and to-do sections in one place. This project is open to anyone to work on and I encourage people to help out. While most is self explanatory, other notes may be listed under sections. Please remove links once you're done making the required changes.

Redirect and Page Work

Orphaned Pages

Nothing links to these pages!

Shortest pages

Naturally, these should have more content written for them! If it makes more sense to, pages should instead be merged into other spaces.

Wanted Work

These pages should be written, or have a red link removed by deletion or replacing its use with a proper link. Luckily, there are no wanted categories!

There are no uncategorized pages or templates. Yay!

Uncategorized Files

A lot of these could use summaries and licensing as well. Most of the treasures screenshots for Pikmin 2 need updating pretty badly.

Image improvement project

This project has several components to help improve the wiki's image sector.

To do:

  • Organization (improve names, reduce unused content, bolster galleries and page images)
  • Large Improvement (Replacement of images, ensuring all images are licensed, requesting more images)
  • Small Improvement (Formatting pages with the infoboxes, minor tweaks, consistent naming)
  • Expansion (More new images for the site, possibly creeping into real-world territory)

Poorly named files

These file names are pretty terrible and could be updated to be more descriptive. Only the most obvious of poor names were added to this list. Additionally, make sure jpeg is moved to jpg, all extensions are lowercase, and any apostrophes are straight, not smart. Abbreviations should generally only be reserved for games/products and not areas or dungeons.

Make sure all files are licensed and categorized. Try to tag images of poor quality with the appropriate tag, and replace if possible.

Controls JPEG to JPG

There were a lot so I put them in one place

NCRs

Naming conflict renames (NCRs) are files that are almost identically named (pikmin.jpg vs Pikmin.jpg; Olimar.jpg vs Olimar.png). Usually this is because the body of the file name is not specific enough. Both should be fixed below to be more specific. It is also possible some are duplicates to be deleted.
