:They don't, really. The only similarity seems to be the yellow petals. Sunflowers have a comparatively big middle bit, whatever you call it, and I've never seen a sunflower with more than one flower on it, or a non-straight stem. ::According to Wikipedia, sunflowers and chrysanthemums belong to the same family, but given the tremendous size and diversity of the family that's not really saying much. - They don't, really. The only similarity seems to be the yellow petals. Sunflowers have a comparatively big middle bit, whatever you call it, and I've never seen a sunflower with more than one flower on it, or a non-straight stem.
