Centipares (ムカデトンボ?, lit.: "Centipede Dragonfly") are docile creatures in Hey! Pikmin that resemble dragonflies. They float through the air in a fixed pattern, and Captain Olimar and Pikmin can land on top of one to ride on its back. By staying on one for a while, the player can cover new ground.

Adult versions exist, the Adult Centipares, which are much longer and whose body rocks up and down as they fly.

Notes

Hey! Pikmin logs

It craves attention and control, as children do. Its back is tough enough to hold some weight without panicking. I envy it as far as that goes. The last time I tried to give my son a ride, I threw out my back.
