Nintendo (任天堂株式会社) is a video-game company that was founded in September 1889 as a manufacturer of a card game called Hanafuda. One of Nintendo's current products is the Pikmin series of games, which has two original entries (Pikmin, and Pikmin 2) for the GameCube along with their New Play Control! releases for the Wii, and a third original video game, Pikmin 3, for the Wii U.
Other popular Nintendo franchises include Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Kirby, F-Zero, and Pokémon .
Pikmin Games
The first game, Pikmin, was released on October 26, 2001 in Japan, December 2, 2001 in North America, and June 14, 2002 in the PAL region.
The sequel to Pikmin, Pikmin 2, was released on April 29, 2004 in Japan, August 30, 2004 in North America, October 8, 2004 in Europe, and November 4, 2004 in Australasia.
The New Play Control! version of Pikmin was released on December 25, 2008 in Japan, March 9, 2009 in North America, February 9, 2009 in Europe, and February 26, 2009 in Australia.
New Play Control! Pikmin 2 was released on March 15, 2009 in Japan, April 24, 2009 in Europe, May 14, 2009 in Australasia , and June 10, 2012 in North America.
Pikmin 3 was released on July 13, 2013 in Japan, July 26, 2013 in Europe, July 27, 2013 in Australia, and August 4, 2013 in North America.
