To kill this beast rather easily, try landing a few Purple Pikmin on its back. It will then fall back on the ground to remain stuck until it shakes. When it is stuck there, swarm it with Pikmin for a quick kill. Make sure you don't allow your pikmin to swarm it when it is on low health, as it may jump back into the air, and when it actually dies, fall on your entire pikmin squad, leading to a devastating amount of pikmin deaths.

Another way to kill a Wollywog is to throw about five to ten pikmin on the Wollywog then when it jumps it will gain damage right before it hits the floor, whistle your pikmin back to you so they don't get shaken off, (pikmin that get shaken off have a high chance of getting killed) then repeat the process and you shouldn't lose any pikmin.

Frequently found in or near a body of water, Wollyhops are slow and stocky creatures. Generally passive, they will only attack by leaping into the air if a leader or Pikmin comes nearby. Once on the attack, a Wollyhop will likely not pursue if its target is on the move, rather it will return to its general starting location in short hops. Their attacks are sometimes sudden, and they can shake all attacking Pikmin from their bodies. Upon falling, a Wollyhop's attack covers a considerable radius, killing all Pikmin within it. Even if a Wollyhop is defeated as it is about to fall, any Pikmin caught beneath it will still be killed. Such an attack can be prevented if the Wollyhop is weighed down with at least 10 or so Pikmin.

A way to defeat a Wollywog in Pikmin is to first stand infront of it which should cause the Wollywog to not move from its area, when it is in its standing state, start hurling pikmin at it until it hops up, so when you whistle at your pikmin, they will run toward you before the Wollywog lands. Repeat this until the Wollywog is dead.
Wollyhops are changed little behaviorally. They are much weaker than they are in ''Pikmin''. They are much more stubborn, and will very rarely be weighed down, unless [[Purple Pikmin]] are on top of it. Because they tend to dwell in darker areas, they are now only found in caves. They actually have more health than Yellow Wollyhops in this game, and are much more observant, being able to detect nearby Leaders or Pikmin from any direction.
