Event Challenges are a type of month-long event that have taken place every month since May 2023. The current Event Challenge and the players current progress on the missions can be viewed by clicking on the "Event Challenge" tab. This tab displays a green tile featuring a big flower at its center, with a circular track arranged around the big flower, which is split into four sections. Beneath this, missions are shown with various requirements for completion; steps taken, flowers planted, Pikmin grown, petals plucked, expeditions done, or mushrooms destroyed. The player's Mii is displayed marching upon the track, and will advance as missions are completed, leaving a trail of flowers behind them. As each of the four sections is completed, new missions will be presented, and the Big Flower in the center will grow through its phases; from a few tiny shoots at first, to a sprout, then a bud, and finally into a bloomed Big Flower once the challenge stage is completed. Upon completion, the challenge stage will advance, awarding the player a Gold Seedling of the event's Special Decor Pikmin and placing them upon a new track with a new Big Flower to grow. There are four challenge stages in total, each with their own missions, and each event's missions vary slightly. Upon completing the fourth stage, the player will reset to the first stage and restart the process.
When a mission is completed, tapping its entry will bring the player to a roulette screen displaying six items, with one of the player's Pikmin beneath. These items range from various types of petals, items such as mushroom recharge tickets, event currency for the current event, or a Huge or Gold Seedling of the event's Special Decor Pikmin. Tapping will cause the item roulette to begin revolving, and tapping again will cause the roulette to slow, stopping as the Pikmin jumps and taps the winning block, with the Pikmin waving happily as the prize is displayed. If the player does not tap the second time, this process will eventually conclude on its own. The timing or absence of a tap does not affect the outcome, as each prize is predetermined.[1]
Premium Event Pass
The Premium Event Pass is a unique item available in the shop during nearly all Event Challenges since the 2023 Fingerboard Decor Pikmin Event. Only players Level 20 and above are able to purchase the pass. It always costs 
999 coins, and features the same benefits. It is a one-time purchase, and the benefits only apply to the event during which the pass is purchased.
These benefits include:
- Choosing a special Colored Gold Seedling for a specific type of Decor Pikmin after clearing all 4 stages of the event missions.
- Getting extra seasonal nectar when each stage of the event mission is cleared, with a total of 160 nectar after all 4 stages.
- If the pass is purchased within the first week of the event, a bonus of 500 event currency for the current event is given as a bonus.
Mystery Boxes
During all Event Challenges since the 2023 Halloween Event, mushrooms have rewarded Mystery Boxes once defeated. Since the 2024 Lunar New Year Event, Mystery Boxes are only rewarded when completing a battle against an event mushroom. These boxes always appear at the completion of a battle, after viewing the total score. The rewards that Mystery Boxes contain varies between Event Challenges, and some events have had unique designs or types of Mystery Boxes.
The rewards change slightly between Event Challenges, but always consist of either Huge or Gold Seedlings for a specific type of Decor Pikmin, event currency, petals, nectar, or any of the items that are available in the shop. There are usually two types of Mystery Boxes, and the rarer types consist of more valuable rewards, such as Seedlings or high amounts of Event Currency.

Event Currency
During all Event Challenges since the 2023 Halloween Event, a special type of currency has been made available to obtain through various methods. This currency has a unique design for each Event Challenge, but always functions the same way, and has only had small changes between each appearance. Event Currency is obtained by clearing event challenge missions, flower planting, and through various methods in the shop.
Event Currency has no use outside of it’s respective event, and is only used to progress through a mission list to obtain Mii parts and Gold Seedlings. The missions progress automatically as currency is collected.
There have been multiple designs for the Event Currency during various events:
- Halloween Candy, during the 2023 Halloween Event.
- Memory Fragments, during the 2nd Anniversary Event.
- Gingerbread Cookies, during the 2023 Holiday Event.
- Party Poppers, during the 2024 New Years Event.
- Red Envelopes, during the 2024 Lunar New Year Event.
- Poetry Slips, during the 2024 Flower Card Event.
- Chocolate Bunnies, during the 2024 Spring Festival Event.
- Diamond Cookies, during the 2024 Playing Card Event.
- Milk Bottles, during the 2024 Cheese Event.

2023
Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin
The Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from May 8th at 00:00 until May 31st, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[2]
- This Event Challenge introduced the Sneaker Keychain Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin wear sneaker keychains on their bodies, with a unique design for each type of Pikmin.
- Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin.
- New Mii costumes were added to the shop. These were Graffiti Print Jackets and Sneakers matching the design of the Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin. The Graffiti Print Jackets were a permanent addition, whilst the Sneakers were only available from during the event period, and included Special Missions that rewarded the matching Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin upon completion.
- During the Event Challenge, Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 20 points of attack power.
2023 Fingerboard Decor Pikmin
The Fingerboard Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from June 1st at 00:00 until June 21st, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[3]
- This Event Challenge introduced new designs of the Fingerboard Special Decor Pikmin type for Blue, White, and Rock Pikmin. The existing Fingerboard Decor Pikmin from the 2022 Fingerboard Decor Pikmin Event were also available to obtain.
- Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Fingerboard Decor Pikmin.
- New Mii costumes were added to the shop. These were T-shirts with prints matching the design of the Fingerboard Decor Pikmin. They included Special Missions that rewarded the matching Fingerboard Decor Pikmin upon completion.
- During the Event Challenge, Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 20 points of attack power.
- The Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and featured the same perks as usual.
2023 Chess Piece Decor Pikmin
The Chess Piece Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from June 22nd at 00:00 until July 20th, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[4]
- This Event Challenge introduced new designs and colors of the Chess Piece Special Decor Pikmin type for all Pikmin types. The existing Chess Piece Decor Pikmin from the 2022 Chess Piece Decor Pikmin Event were also available to obtain.
- New Mii costumes were added to the shop. These were various black and white costumes and Chess Piece Hats matching the design and color of the chess pieces. The black and white costumes were a permanent addition, whilst the Chess Piece Hats were only available during the event period, and included Special Missions that rewarded the matching type and color of Chess Piece Decor Pikmin upon completion.
- The color of the Chess Piece Decor Pikmin available in Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions changed every Thursday, which was also reflected in the shop via the color of Chess Piece Hats.
- Gold Seedlings from referral codes grew into a random type and color of Chess Piece Decor Pikmin, no matter what the current rotation color was.
- During the Event Challenge, Chess Piece Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 20 points of attack power.

Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin
The Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from July 21st at 00:00 until August 13th, 2023 at 23:59 local time, to celebrate the release of Pikmin 4. Features of this event included:[5]
- This Event Challenge introduced the Pikmin 4 Spaceship Special Decor Pikmin type. Red, Yellow, Blue, White, and Winged Pikmin wear spaceships based on the S.S. Beagle, and Purple and Rock Pikmin wear spaceships based on the S.S. Shepherd.
- Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin.
- Special Mission Tickets were available in for purchase in the shop, which unlocked a bonus mission when purchased. There was a ticket for each type of Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin.
- During the Event Challenge, Pikmin 4 Spaceship Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 25 points of attack power. Koppaite Space Suit Decor Pikmin also gained an additional 25 points of attack power, because of the Pikmin 3 Deluxe Throwback Event that took place right before this Event Challenge.
- The Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and featured the same perks as usual.
Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin
The Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from August 14th at 00:00 until September 10th, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[6]
- The event was divided into two parts; the first part started on August 14th, and the second part on August 26th, 2023.
- This Event Challenge introduced the Mahjong Tile Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin wear mahjong tiles on their bodies, with a different tile for each type of Pikmin. There are 2 different tiles for all Pikmin types, with a total of 14 new Decor Pikmin. Each set of 7 Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin were obtained through different methods during the different parts of the event.
In the first part:
- The first set of Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin could be obtained from Huge or Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions.
In the second part:
- Mystery mushrooms were added, coming only in the "Normal" size. Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin had a much higher attack power than other Pikmin. All mushrooms were converted to these mushrooms at the start of the event, and continued to appear throughout the event.
- A new set of limited-time missions were introduced with a focus on destroying mushrooms. Clearing each mission gave a Mahjong themed T-shirt, with three total to obtain.
- Defeating a mushroom would grant the player a Mystery Box once completed, using the Default Mystery Box designs.
- Rewards from Common Mystery Boxes consisted of petals, flower planting accelerators, or mushroom recharge tickets.
- Rewards from Rare Mystery Boxes consisted of Huge or Gold Seedlings that grew into the second set of Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin.
During both parts:
- Gold Seedlings from referral codes grew into a random type of Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin from both sets.
- Special Mission Tickets and an Event Challenge Special Pack were available in the shop.
- Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 20 points of attack power.
- The Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and featured the same perks as usual.
- All features of the first part of the event were active during the second part of the event.
Ice Cream Decor Pikmin
The Ice Cream Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from September 11th at 00:00 until September 30th, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[7]
- This Event Challenge introduced the Ice Cream Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin wear various scoops of ice cream, with a unique design for each type of Pikmin.
- Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Ice Cream Decor Pikmin.
- All postcards obtained during the event featured special Ice Cream themed background and stamp designs.
- Special Mission Tickets were available in for purchase in the shop, which unlocked a bonus mission when purchased. Once completed, players were able to choose which type of Ice Cream Decor Pikmin a special Colored Gold Seedling was rewarded for.
- During the Event Challenge, Ice Cream Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 25 points of attack power.
- The Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and featured the same perks as usual.
2023 Halloween Event
The Halloween Event Challenge took place from October 6th at 00:00 until October 31st, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[8]
- This Event Challenge introduced the Halloween Treat Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin wear Halloween-themed candy, lollipops, and muffins, with a unique design for each type of Pikmin.
- Gold Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin.
- Jack-o'-Lantern Decor Pikmin from the 2022 Halloween Event were also available to obtain through Seedlings from Mystery Boxes.
- This Event Challenge introduced Event Currency to the Event Challenge system. The design of Event Currency for this event was Halloween Candy.
- Special Mission Tickets, an Event Challenge Special Pack, Halloween Gift Packs, and both new and returning Mii costumes were available in the shop for the duration of the event.
- During the Event Challenge, Jack-o'-lantern and Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 25 points of attack power.
- Halloween mushrooms were reintroduced, coming in both "Normal" and "Giant" sizes. Jack-o'-Lantern Decor Pikmin had a much higher attack power than other Pikmin, and Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin had an even higher attack power. All mushrooms were converted to these mushrooms at the start of the event, and continued to appear throughout the event.
- On most weekends during the Event Challenge, Giant Halloween Mushrooms appeared. When defeated, they dropped a Rare Mystery Box.
- Defeating a Halloween mushroom would grant the player a Mystery Box once completed, using the Halloween Mystery Box designs.
- Rewards from Mystery Boxes consisted of Event Currency or Seedlings for Jack-o'-Lantern Decor Pikmin.
- Postcards obtained from destroying Halloween Mushrooms featured special Halloween themed background and stamp designs.
- The Premium Event Pass was available for 999 coins in the shop and featured the same perks as usual.
- This Event Challenge introduced two changes to the Premium Event Pass that stayed for all future Event Challenges. Players Level 20 and above were now able to purchase the pass, instead of Level 50, and purchasing the pass within the first week of the Event Challenge granted high amounts of Event Currency as a bonus.

2nd Anniversary Puzzle Decor Pikmin
The 2nd Anniversary Puzzle Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from November 3rd at 00:00 until November 26th, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[9]
- This Event Challenge introduced the Puzzle Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin carry puzzle pieces which make up a 9-piece puzzle of the loading screens from November 2021 and 2022, with a unique design for each type of Pikmin. There were two sets of Puzzle Decor Pikmin, named Puzzle: 2022 Summer Memories and Puzzle: 2021 Fall Memories.
- The design of Event Currency for this event was Memory Fragments.
- This Event Challenge introduced flower planting as a method to obtain Event Currency, with one currency earned for every 100 flowers planted. This method stayed for all future Event Challenges.
- Special Mission Tickets and an Event Challenge Special Pack were available in the shop for the duration of the event.
- Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Puzzle: 2022 Summer Memories Decor Pikmin.
- Gold Seedlings from Event Currency missions grew into a random type of Puzzle: 2021 Fall Memories Decor Pikmin, besides the Gold Seedlings with a guaranteed type of Pikmin.

The 2023 Holiday Event Challenge took place from December 6th at 00:00 until December 27th, 2023 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[10]
- This Event Challenge introduced new designs of the Mitten Special Decor Pikmin type for Purple, White, Rock, and Winged Pikmin. The existing Mitten Decor Pikmin from the 2022 Mitten Decor Pikmin Event were also available to obtain.
- Winter Sticker Decor Pikmin from the Winter Sticker Decor Pikmin Event were also available to obtain through Seedlings from Mystery Boxes and Event Currency missions.
- The design of Event Currency for this event was Gingerbread Cookies.
- Special Mission Tickets, an Event Challenge Special Pack, Holiday Gift Packs, and both new and returning Mii costumes were available in the shop for the duration of the event.

2024 New Years Event
The 2024 New Years Event Challenge took place from January 1st at 00:00 until January 28th, 2024 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[11]
- This Event Challenge introduced the 2024 Glasses Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin wear appropriately sized 2024 New Year's glasses on their heads, with a unique design for each type of Pikmin.
- The design of Event Currency for this event was Party Poppers.
- Special Mission Tickets, an Event Challenge Special Pack, New Years Gift Packs, and new Mii costumes were available in the shop for the duration of the event.
- Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin.
- All postcards obtained during the event featured special New Years themed background and stamp designs.
- During the Event Challenge, 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 25 points of attack power.
- Mystery mushrooms were reintroduced, coming in both "Normal" and "Giant" sizes. 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin had a much higher attack power than other Pikmin. All mushrooms were converted to these mushrooms at the start of the event, and continued to appear throughout the event.

2024 Lunar New Year Event
The 2024 Lunar New Year Event Challenge took place from February 1st at 00:00 until February 25th, 2024 at 23:59 local time. Features of this event included:[12]
- This Event Challenge introduced new designs of the Lunar New Year Ornament Special Decor Pikmin type for Purple, White, Rock, and Winged Pikmin. The existing Lunar New Year Ornament Decor Pikmin from the 2022 Lunar New Year Decor Pikmin Event and 2023 Lunar New Year Decor Pikmin Event were also available to obtain.
- The already introduced types of Lunar New Year Ornament Decor Pikmin were split into two new categories, named Lunar New Year Ornament: Red, and Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold. The new types of Lunar New Year Ornament Decor Pikmin were added to both categories, with a unique design for both.
- The design of Event Currency for this event was Red Envelopes.
- Special Mission Tickets and an Event Challenge Special Pack were available in the shop for the duration of the event.
- New Mii costumes were added to the shop. These were red and blue samurai costumes, and plum blossom hairpins.
- While worn, the new costumes boosted the total amount of Event Currency obtained from flower planting by 30%. The new Head Items, including those earned from the Event Currency missions, granted an additional 20% boost.
- Seedlings from Event Challenge missions and from referral codes grew into a random type of Lunar New Year Ornament: Red Decor Pikmin.
- Gold Seedlings from Event Currency missions grew into a random type of Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold Decor Pikmin, besides the Gold Seedlings with a guaranteed type of Pikmin.
- During the Event Challenge, both sets of Lunar New Year Ornament Decor Pikmin were stronger against mushrooms, gaining an additional 25 points of attack power.
- Lunar New Year mushrooms were added, coming in both "Normal" and "Giant" sizes.
