:You are saying "Unknown #2" appears in the Japanese version if the player doesn't do anything for 28 days. Interesting! — {EspyoT} 06:38, February 13, 2023 (EST)

Possible Unknown #1 log sighting?
I was playing a Pikmin 1 randomizer a while back, and I remember getting a log entry that I think I now recognize as the one listed as Unknown #1. In case the numbers change in future edits to the page, I'm specifically referring to the one that starts with "How do these Pikmin choose a route to return to their Onions?" I don't think I'm confusing it with Route choosing, either; I specifically remember the part where it mentions the pikmin moving in circles if they're stuck.
It's been quite a while since it happened, so I don't remember the exact circumstances. I believe it happened after a day in the Forest Navel when my pikmin got stuck on a bridge (possibly not fully built?) or wall or something while carrying a part back to the ship, although I'm not super confident on this and it could have been sometime in the Distant Spring.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned, this happened during a randomizer. The randomizer I was playing was implemented as a cheat code for the gamecube version of Pikmin that just swapped enemies and ship parts around, and while I don't think messing with the logs or their conditions was within the scope of the randomizer, the fact remains that the game was modified and I can't confirm the log can appear in a completely unmodified game. I might still have the save file lying around, though, so if anyone knows if there's a way to read log entries from past days in the gamecube version, I can try to find the log (to verify my memory of seeing it is actually correct) as well as the logs from the days around it to narrow down where I might have been and what I might have been doing. If my memory of seeing it is correct after all, while we can't confirm it normally appears in the game off of this alone, it might help us figure out its conditions that then can be tested in an unmodified game. Bogeynator (talk) 01:46, June 15, 2024 (EDT)
