They are usually found in tight groups and typically near [[Kingcap]]s, so they typically block passageways. Some Spotcaps however can be found by themselves, out of the way. [[Leader]]s can use their [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]] to destroy Spotcaps.

Spotcaps have varying sizes, near those of a leader. If a Pikmin is [[Charge|issued]] to attack a Spotcap, they'll pummel it for a bit, until it shrivels up and disappears, but if a Pikmin is [[throw]]n straight towards its top, it will crush the fungus and destroy it straight away. The '''Poison Spotcap''' is a variant of the Spotcap found exclusively in {{p4}}. It is rarer than its normal counterpart, only being found in 1 above ground area, the [[Primordial Thicket]], and 3 caves, the [[Doppelgänger's Den]], the [[Engulfed Castle]] and the [[Cavern for a King]]. It functions the same as normal Spotcaps, except it can only be attacked by [[White Pikmin]] due to the [[poison]] it emmits. However, they can also be destroyed easily by [[Oatchi]]'s rush, if he has the [[Sniff Saver]] equipped.

*Spotcaps and Kingcaps share many similarities to [[Dwarf Bulborb]]s, and [[Bulborb]]s, respectively. Spotcaps and Dwarf Bulborbs each have 100 health, while Kingcaps and Bulborbs each have 1000.
