Special Spots are points of interest in pb that are marked with a special rainbow bud flower. These points of interest are placed at specific locations as part of brand sponsorships. Special Spots were fully added to the game on 29, originally featuring the design of a small always-bloomed flower with the brand logo visible in the center of the flower. Their design was updated to the one used now in the 56.0 update.

Special Spots appear at defined locations on the map. They have a small circle on the ground surrounding them, and this circle can vary in size. If the player is inside the radius, the flower will glow and it will be possible to receive rewards from it; otherwise the flower will not glow.

Tapping on a Special Spot will open an information screen about it, with a brand logo appearing on the flower's bulb. Swiping down on the flower when it is glowing will make it drop a Gold Seedling, sometimes along with nectar of a predetermined type and color. The type of Decor Pikmin this seedling grows into depends on the Special Spot, as does the frequency at which players can get the Seedlings and the maximum amount of Seedlings a Special Spot can give.

Currently, Special Spots only appear in 2 locations: Nintendo Tokyo and Nintendo New York. The seedlings provided by these Special Spots grow into Blue Pikmin with Mario Hat decor. Only 1 seedling can be obtained in a day this way.
Special Spots have appeared at a variety of live events and as part of other promotions. The rewards from these Special Spots have all been unique to the event or promotion they appeared for.

In addition to Special Spots appearing during events, there are permanent Special Spots at select locations. These locations include:

The Gold Seedling that is rewarded grows into Red, Yellow or Blue Present Sticker (Gold) Decor Pikmin, with the Text "Nintendo (location) 20xx-××-×× (date you received the seedling)". Only 1 Gold Seedling can be obtained from each Special Spot per month.
The following changes have been made to Special Spots over time:
** The Gold Seedlings provided by the Special Spots at Nintendo stores used to grow into Blue Mario Hat Decor Pikmin until 17, when the Kyoto store opened.

The second Gold Seedling grows into a Red Flower Card Decor Pikmin with the name “Nintendo” written in Japanese characters on it. These Gold Seedlings can only be obtained from the Special Spot once per month.
