The Repugnant Appendage (かぐわしき存在) is a treasure in Pikmin 2; it is actually a dirty pink shoe with a velcro strap that has the head of a teddy bear on it. From the design and proportion, it is likely a baby shoe. It is found on the eighth and final sublevel of Frontier Cavern and is in the possession of an Empress Bulblax that constantly gives birth to Bulborb Larvae. When retrieved, the Rush Boots component of the Exploration Kit is unlocked. Like some other treasures, if the player defeats the Empress Bulblax, but does not have enough Pikmin to carry the Repugnant Appendage, which requires the strength of twenty Pikmin, it will change weight to match the player's army.

Notes
Olimar's Notes
"This aromatic object secretes a tangy odor that could knock out a bulblax! I'm with the ship on this one... I don't want to touch it, either! But I must! For the sake of the company and my family... I must summon the strength to carry on!"

Sales Pitch
"Is this the remains of some giant creature? Its color is striking, but its stench is horrific. Could it be dangerous? The true essence of things in the natural world is often very disguised."
Olimar's journal (Nintendo Switch)
Rush Boots
The Rush Boots are a modification to the captains' footwear by The Ship that allows them to run faster, at the same speed as flowered White Pikmin. They work by reducing air resistance and so allowing the captains to have greater speed. The Rush Boots also renders the blowing attack of Puffy and Withering Blowhogs ineffective against captains. They can however be a hindrance, as the Pikmins' speed is not increased so they fall behind, are harder to control and often get stuck where going around corners.
