The '''Puffy Blowhog''' is an enemy in both [[Pikmin (series)|Pikmin games]]. It is the more recognized of the two airborne blowhog species, although it is much more rare than its cousin in the [[Pikmin 2|second game]]. It resembles the [[Withering Blowhog]], but is larger, with purple/light blue stripes and spines on its back. Its breath is notably stronger than that of the Withering Blowhog, but does not cause Pikmin flowers to wilt like in Pikmin 1, as it lacks the withering plant hormones which are characteristic of this beast's flying relative, instead it blows Pikmin into hazards or enemies but it will not blow the captains if they have the [[Rush Boots]] or [[Purple Pikmin]]. The easiest way to defeat it is to weigh it down by rapidly tossing [[Pikmin (species)|Pikmin]] onto its body — a single Purple Pikmin will work just as effectively. Once grounded, swarm the defenseless creature with Pikmin, or pound it with heavy Purples. 

In the [[Pikmin (game)|first game]] they appear in [[The Distant Spring]], and are only rarely seen within a few [[cave]]s in Pikmin 2. This creature also appears only in the multiplayer stage [[Carpet Plain]].

They are much more dangerous in Pikmin 1, as they can deflower the Pikmin and blow them much farther. Additionally, they are found in near water and enemies to make them more annoying. They are also slightly bigger.

==How to Kill==
Due to their speed when flying away, these enemies are harder in the first game. Have a Pikmin in hand, and when it is cornered into a wall, bombard it with Pikmin. It will eventually fall. Swarm, and it's dead. In the second game, they're in caves often with many [[Gate]]s, so they can be a problem to hit when they're behind a gate. They're weaker, so just throw a single [[Purple Pikmin]], it will come down, then swarm.
