In the best ending of Pikmin, there is a scene where a group of fourteen different colored Onions fly above the atmosphere of PNF-404. It is unknown whether they are trying to follow Captain Olimar, or merely hovering for the night. Interestingly, two of these Onions are purple, and Purple Pikmin were introduced in Pikmin 2, but without an Onion. Similarly, three of these onions are pink and two are cyan, which could be presumed to belong to both Winged Pikmin (introduced in Pikmin 3) and Ice Pikmin (Introduced in Pikmin 4) respectively. A possible connection could be made between the Rock Pikmin and the four black onions present in this cutscene as well, although Rock Pikmin appear to be dark gray rather than black. It is currently unknown if the rest of these colors (green and orange) will appear in future games, or if they exist just to add aesthetic value to the ending cutscene. | |||
