:There are probably no real damaging glitches. For the most part, the ones tagged as "Harmful" mean they don't do the player any favors, and usually end up putting the player in a worse spot than before, so they should only be reproduced for fun, not to gain some advantage. Still, some glitches can cause save files to end up in a really tricky predicament, like the Libra being lost to the abyss. In a way, that glitch did end up causing damage -- to the player's save file. There are also some glitches that crash the game, and I doubt any console past the year 1995 or so has a problem with the game they are playing crashing. Still, because it's an unintended and aggressive behavior, we don't have the authority to say it's harmless, and it's better to be safe than sorry and warn players that these types of glitches could bear some (minuscule) risk. — {EspyoT} 13:56, February 23, 2023 (EST)

::Understood. I'm just certain I remember hearing about some really, really bad coding mistakes on the DS back around the mid-2000s Nintendo did have at least one or two cartridge wipes involving the Mystery Dungeon series, and while upon further inspection it also seems to only wipe save data from the cartridge, it could wipe the save data of any game. Would the closest analogue to this be memory card corruption, and if so, are there glitches in the franchise that are prime candidates for corrupting a memory card? I always hated losing all the data on a card when it needed formatting. --

:::The first Pikmin game is known to sometimes end up with corrupted save data, and for its attempts to self-repair ending up in a weirdly broken game state. Not sure any more is known than that. — {EspyoT} 11:49, February 26, 2023 (EST)
