****** I think introduction order is best, but that has a key flaw; Pikmin 2 is nonlinear, so you could encounter either the Fiery Bulblax, Hairy Bulborb, or Orange Bulborb first - well, no, not necessarily; let me think. In Pikmin 2, Orange Bulborbs are only found in caves that require Yellow Pikmin to access (or are in Wistful Wild), with the exception of the Snagret Hole, but that requires Blue Pikmin or the use of glitches. Blue Pikmin are behind an electric gate, so Snagret Hole therefore cannot be reached without Yellow Pikmin, or glitches, but I think it's safe to say the vast majority of people won't be using glitches on their first playthrough (we'd be looking at first playthroughs because that's when people would encounter them first, just for complete clarification). Then there's the issue of the Wistful Wild; they can be found there, and in two of the area's caves. I'm not sure if the debt can be paid off without using Yellows or Blues (and without using enemy corpses), but I'm fairly sure it can't be, as the vast, vast majority of the Perplexing Pool would be inaccessible, the non-tutorial part of the Valley of Repose would be inaccessible, and a fair amount of the Awakening Wood wouldn't be accessible (this is just my thoughts from some quick research and my memory, so I'm not 100% sure it's correct), which restricts the player from getting quite a lot of Pokos. Why do Yellow Pikmin matter here, you ask (you probably already know, you're the second-in-command on the most comprehensive Pikmin internet database to ever exist) - the Fiery Bulblax has to be fought (or at least seen, maybe there's a way to get past it without killing it but I don't recall that being possible sans-glitches) for Yellow Pikmin to be discovered, and Yellow Pikmin have to be discovered for Orange Bulborbs to be encountered (unless the player goes out of their way to grind enemies for hours so they can repay the debt). So it's essentially undeniable that the Fiery Bulblax will be found before the Orange Bulborb would be, as well as the Hairy Bulborb, as it is in caves that require Blues (or are in the Wistful Wild). So we can be certain that Fiery Bulblaxes are the first-encountered new-introduced Bulborb in Pikmin 2. As for what goes next, it's not certain the player will encounter either one first, but Hairy Bulborbs require Yellows and Blues to be discovered, but Orange Bulborbs only require Yellows to be discovered (again, they can both be found in Wistful Wild, but this is much less likely and shouldn't really be taken into consideration), so I think Orange Bulborbs should go first. In summary: I believe the order should be (Red) Bulborb, Spotty Bulbear, Fiery Bulblax, Orange Bulborb, Hairy Bulborb, Whiptongue Bulborb, and Frosty Bulborb.
As for whether or not we should call it the "Red Bulborb" or the "Bulborb"... hmm. Both sides have good reasons for themselves; they are called Bulborbs in the most recent entry in the series, but just calling them Bulborbs would make them a tad less distinct from the other entries, which *could maybe* cause a bit of confusion. I don't know; I think the vast majority of people would know what we mean if we just say "Bulborb", especially since it's been officially called that for the last eleven years, and it's likely that those who've played the games where it wasn't called that would know the difference. "Red Bulborb" offers complete and utter eradication of any chance of misinterpretation, but "Bulborb" is more official and still makes perfect sense.
Additionally, maybe there can be an "Other" option, just so the people who'd prefer types that are left out can have something to pick? Deeb1324354657 (talk) 18:40, October 6, 2024 (EDT)

******* Alternatively, we could just use Piklopedia order, which would put the Pikmin 2 types in the order Hairy Bulborb, Orange Bulborb, and Fiery Bulblax. I also agree that using "Bulborb" instead of "Red Bulborb" is a better idea. I don't think there should be an "Other" option because it's better to limit the poll to just a few comparable types. Between the introduction order and the alphabetical order, I think the alphabetical order looks slightly better, but that's just my opinion. — Soprano(talk) 19:19, October 6, 2024 (EDT)

******** It seems to come down to subjectivity; I think it's nice that both start with "Bulborb" at the top, but I generally think in a linear manner, so having one introduced in 4 with two 2 ones on the side is less favourable to me. Deeb1324354657 (talk) 20:22, October 6, 2024 (EDT)
* Some people have mentioned the idea of changing this question to be about which type they'd rather have as a pet. That would work as a poll, but the original question would also work as a poll. So should this be split into 2 poll ideas? — Soprano(talk) 17:16, October 6, 2024 (EDT)

** Don't you think they'd be a bit too similar? I feel like they'd be mutually exclusive, no? Or at least require over a year before the other is used.
I personally think that, if one is used, it should be the one about which is preferred as a pet; I feel like that has the most personality, and is kind of quirky which is a nice trait most polls don't have. Deeb1324354657 (talk) 18:40, October 6, 2024 (EDT)

**** Good point, those could be a bit confusing. I think those look great, but could we do "All four of them" for the final option? I feel like just "Four of them" makes it seem like there's more than four, or something like that. Deeb1324354657 (talk) 18:47, October 6, 2024 (EDT)

***** I considered that but wasn't sure about it, so since you've suggested the same thing, I'll implement it. I've changed the options now (they were previously "Just one", "Two", "Three", and "All of them"). — Soprano(talk) 19:19, October 6, 2024 (EDT)
