Much like the Phosbats themselves, they are sensitive to light, and will close up if exposed to it. They do not move, and function more like structures or terrain features than enemies, but they have a [[Piklopedia (Pikmin 3 Deluxe)|Piklopedia]] entry in {{p3d}}. However, it does not appear as an enemy on the [[radar]]. They can also be disabled by being attacked by Pikmin until defeated.

== Behavior ==
Phosbat Pods can start either active or dormant, and while active, they will periodically spawn Phosbats. When the main light of the room they are in turns on, or when a nearby [[Glowcap]] or [[Electrode|light bulb]] starts emitting light, an active pod will close its opening and will stop spawning more Phosbats; dormant pods will remain dormant.

Pods spawn a new Phosbat every ten seconds. Any given pod can spawn up to five Phosbats, and once it has done so, it will stop spawning more. Any time one of the Phosbats from that pod is killed, it will spawn again, up until it reaches the limit of five.

If a pod is dormant, only the [[Vehemoth Phosbat]]'s roar will activate it, which happens when two small lights in the boss's arena are lit up.
