If the latter position occurs, it may be necessary to throw Pikmin at it rather than charging it due to a lip, which must be done cautiously to avoid throwing Pikmin into the abyss instead. The treasure [[Endless Repository]] in the US version has the same appearance, and both are actually Beach Cliff-brand sardines tins.
