Nintendo released a series of e+ cards (called e-Reader cards outside of Japan), which feature Pikmin characters and enemies. The cards can be used to unlock levels of mini-games within Japanese copies of Pikmin 2 by connecting one's Game Boy Advance and e-Reader to their GameCube. A binder for holding the e+ cards was also released.
There are 6 types of Pikmin e-reader cards (called e+ cards in Japan), which are of the original three Pikmin types and their Onions. The three color groups (Red, Yellow, and Blue) unlock puzzle games buried deep in the recesses of Pikmin 2, by using Nintendo's Pikmin 2 puzzle e-cards (which require the use of an e-Reader). 6 of these cards were given out through Club Nintendo. A binder for holding the e+ cards was also released.

The main set contains 60 cards spread across 12 packs and four series, with five cards in each pack. There are 20 red cards, 20 yellow cards, and 20 blue cards. There are also 12 promotional cards which were released in various ways. Three of the promotional cards, including Olimar, Louie, and the President, were bundled in with every copy of Pikmin 2 in Japan. Two cards were given out in weekly issues of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, and another was given out in the official Pikmin 2 strategy guide. Six cards could be bought as a pack using the Japanese Club Nintendo service. The complete set of cards totals to 72. A Pikmin 2 e+ card binder was also released with the Famitsu Cube + Advance magazine July 2004 issue as an appendix, which can hold the complete set of cards.
The three games are as follows:
* Plucking Pikmin: The player must pluck every Pikmin from the ground.
* Marching Pikmin: The player controls the Pikmin by moving them in the same direction, and must try to get them into the goal.
* Connecting Pikmin: The player moves panels around to create a path for the Pikmin so that they can reach a goal.
