Hey! Pikmin is a fairly isolated game, in that it barely connects to the other games in the series. Olimar's first encounter with the Pikmin from p1 is mentioned, but not much else. However, Olimar still briefly mentions characters in the other games in various logs, such as his wife and The President. Chronologically, the game must take place some time after p3, as the Pikmin types first discovered in that game are immediately recognized by the S.S. Dolphin II.{{cite quote|Ah! Those are Rock Pikmin. They're strong enough to break solid objects, such as crystals. If anything gets in your way, call on a Rock Pikmin to bust right through!|The [[S.S. Interestingly, the game has a few connections to the later released p4. Both games are the only titles so far to feature Sparklium, as well as White and Purple Onions (implied via Olimar's Master Onion), and have unclear and seemingly contradictory placements in the series' established chronology.
