While classified as a relative to the [[Common Glowcap]] in the [[Piklopedia (Pikmin 2)|Piklopedia]], Glowstems are actually artificial red and green {{w|light-emitting diode}}s. They are found exclusively in metal [[cave]]s, where they are spread randomly along the ground and on metal ledges. Despite appearing to have exposed live wires, Glowstems provide no threat to [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]] or leaders, only visually flickering slightly upon contact.
