Fruits are items in pb. They can be found on expeditions or mushroom battles, or picked up by Pikmin while walking, and they give the player nectar when collected. There are many different types of fruits, and they can be sorted into three categories based on how they are obtained.

Pikmin in the player's squad can randomly pick up small fruits nearby by themselves. Walking increases the chance of this happening. Each Pikmin can hold 1 fruit, and by tapping the Pikmin (either on the map screen or the garden screen), the fruit will be collected. Each fruit collected in this way produces a small amount of nectar of a specific type, with the type and amount of nectar being determined by the type of fruit. Forcing Pikmin out of the squad via double-tapping the whistle auto-collects any fruit held by the removed Pikmin.
There are two ways of getting fruits, and each way has different fruits it can give the player. The first way is through being picked up by Pikmin.

These fruits can also be obtained through low scores in some types of mushroom battles. In this case, they can provide nectar of the listed color of a different species of flower.
The second way is through expeditions. The player can select a fruit from the list of available expeditions, and assign Pikmin to go and collect it. All fruits take at least 6 Pikmin to carry, but up to 12 Pikmin can be sent. Once the Pikmin are back, the fruit can be collected in the garden screen, and will give the player much more nectar than a fruit obtained through the first method.

These fruits can be collected on expeditions. The player can select a fruit from the list of available expeditions, and assign Pikmin to go and collect it. All fruits have a weight of 6 weight units, and up to 12 Pikmin can be sent to carry them. Once the Pikmin are back, the fruit can be collected in the garden screen, and will give the player a good amount of nectar. For all large fruits except Plums, the amount of nectar provided is equal to a floored tenth of the fruit's listed mass in grams (so a 358g fruit will give 35 nectar). For Plums, the amount of nectar provided is equal to a floored eighth of the fruit's listed mass in grams (so a 112g fruit will give 14 nectar). The types of nectar listed are the normal types each fruit provides, but in some situations, such as if the fruit is produced by blooming a Big Flower, it can give nectar from a different species of flower (though the color will be the same).

These fruits can also be obtained through mushroom battles. In this case, they may provide rare nectar of the listed color, rather than basic nectar.

These fruits are the only ones to have names stated in-game, through the expedition menu.

These fruits are only obtainable as rewards from mushroom battles. Medium fruits can only be obtained from event mushrooms, and they require 2 Pikmin to carry, regardless of the Pikmin’s carrying strength. Giant fruits can only be obtained by getting very high scores on mushrooms, and they require 8 Pikmin to carry, regardless of the Pikmin’s carrying strength. The flower species of the nectar provided from either size of fruit can vary.

In addition, there is one final type of fruit, the special fruit. This gives 1 special nectar when collected, and is obtained in the same way as giant fruits. They require 1 Pikmin to carry.
