'''Freezing Wasteland''' ({{j|いてついた こうや|itetsuita kōya}}) is the first main [[area]] in the [[Snowfall Field]]. It introduces a few of the ice mechanics present in the [[sector]], such as icy slopes that Olimar cannot control his descent on, and [[crystal]]-like icicles that can be broken with Rock Pikmin. The enemies in this area, particularly the [[Clicking Slurker]]s, server as nuisances while the player is attempting to complete other tasks, making battling them and multitasking an important skill in this area.

| Four Rock Pikmin jump out from behind a pile of leafs. One of them fails the landing, and ends up falling face-first on the floor. As the others look to see if everything is all right, the Pikmin gets up with snow on its face, which quickly falls off.

! Snowball

| The player enters the first doorway.
| There is a large snowball covering the exit of the doorway. Two Rock Pikmin peek from behind the snowball, one on each side, and then go back in. Some thuds are heard, and after the third, the snowball shatters, and reveals the four Rock Pikmin that took it down. However, one of them is completely encased in snow, as the other three notice. It eventually shakes the snow off, though.
