When idle, Female Sheargrubs remain underground. Only when the player or Pikmin are near does the Female Sheargrub appear. It will emerge and follow either the player or any Pikmin nearby without attacking. Once a certain amount of damage has been done to them, they will retreat underground and heal up. In ''Pikmin'' and ''Pikmin 2'', Female Sheargrubs will 'attack' unfolded bridges and deconstruct them. This doesn't happen in ''Pikmin 3'' and ''Pikmin 4'' as the bridges were changed from sticks to fragments and clay.
