Editing Event/Event Challenges

'''Event Challenges''' are a type of month-long events that have taken place every month since May 2023. The current Event Challenge and the players current progress on the missions can be viewed by clicking on the "Event Challenge" tab. This tab displays a green tile featuring a big flower at its center, with a circular track arranged around the big flower, which is split into four sections. Beneath this, missions are shown with various requirements for completion; steps taken, flowers planted, Pikmin grown, petals plucked, or mushrooms destroyed. The player's [[Mii]] is displayed marching upon the track, and will advance as missions are completed, leaving a trail of flowers behind them. As each of the four sections is completed, new missions will be presented, and the [[Big Flower]] in the center will grow through its phases; from a few tiny shoots at first, to a sprout, then a bud, and finally into a bloomed Big Flower once the challenge stage is completed. Upon completion, the challenge stage will advance, awarding the player a [[Gold Seedling]] of the event's Special [[Decor Pikmin]] and placing them upon a new track with a new Big Flower to grow. There are four challenge stages in total, each with their own missions, and each event's missions vary slightly. Upon completing the fourth stage, the player will reset to the first stage and restart the process.

When a mission is completed, tapping its entry will bring the player to a roulette screen displaying six items, with one of the player's Pikmin beneath. These items range from various types of [[petal]]s, items such as [[mushroom recharge ticket]]s, [[#Event Currency|event currency]] for the current event, or a Huge or Gold Seedling of the event's Special Decor Pikmin. Tapping will cause the item roulette to begin revolving, and tapping again will cause the roulette to slow, stopping as the Pikmin jumps and taps the winning block, with the Pikmin waving happily as the prize is displayed. If the player does not tap the second time, this process will eventually conclude on its own. ==Premium Event Pass==

The Premium Event Pass is a unique item available in the [[shop]] during nearly all Event Challenges since the [[#2023 Fingerboard Decor Pikmin|2023 Fingerboard Decor Pikmin Event]]. Only players [[Level#Pikmin Bloom|Level 20]] and above are able to purchase the pass. It always costs {{icon|Coin}} 999 coins, and features the same benefits. It is a one-time purchase, and the benefits only apply to the event during which the pass is purchased.

*Choosing a special Colored [[Gold Seedling]] for a specific type of Decor Pikmin after clearing all 4 stages of the event missions.

*Getting extra seasonal [[Nectar#In Pikmin Bloom |nectar]] when each stage of the event mission is cleared, with a total of 160 nectar after all 4 stages.

*If the pass is purchased within the first week of the event, a bonus of 500 [[#Event Currency|event currency]] for the current event is given as a bonus.

During all Event Challenges since the [[#2023 Halloween Event|2023 Halloween Event]], [[Mushroom battle|mushrooms]] have rewarded Mystery Boxes once defeated. Since the [[#2024 Lunar New Year Event|2024 Lunar New Year Event]], Mystery Boxes are only rewarded when completing a battle against an [[Mushroom battle#Event mushrooms|event mushroom]]. These boxes always appear at the completion of a battle, after viewing the total score. The rewards that Mystery Boxes contain varies between Event Challenges, and some events have had unique designs or types of Mystery Boxes.

The rewards change slightly between Event Challenges, but always consist of either [[seedling|Huge or Gold Seedlings]] for a specific type of [[Decor Pikmin]], [[#Event Currency|event currency]], [[petal]]s, [[Nectar#In Pikmin Bloom|nectar]], or any of the items that are available in the [[shop]]. There are usually two types of Mystery Boxes, and the rarer types consist of more valuable rewards, such as Seedlings or high amounts of Event Currency.

Event Currency has no use outside of it’s respective event, and is only used to progress through a mission list to obtain [[Mii]] parts and [[Gold Seedling]]s. The missions progress automatically as currency is collected.

====Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin====

The Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin Event Challenge took place from {{date|14|August}} at 00:00 until {{date|10|September|2023}} at 23:59 local time. *This Event Challenge introduced the [[Decor Pikmin#Mahjong Tile|Mahjong Tile]] Special Decor Pikmin type. These Decor Pikmin wear mahjong tiles on their bodies, with a different tile for each type of Pikmin. There are 2 different tiles for all Pikmin types, with a total of 14 new Decor Pikmin. Each set of 7 Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin were obtained through different methods during the different parts of the event.

*The first set of Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin could be obtained from [[Seedling|Huge or Gold Seedling]]s from Event Challenge missions.

*[[Mushroom battle#Mysterious mushrooms|Mystery mushrooms]] were added. These had green and yellow gradients with no spots, and only came in the "Normal" size. Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin had a much higher attack power than other Pikmin. All mushrooms were converted to these mushrooms at the start of the event, and continued to appear throughout the event.

*A new set of limited-time missions were introduced with a focus on destroying mushrooms. Clearing each mission gave a [[Mii#Tops|Mahjong themed T-shirt]], with three total to obtain.

*[[Decor Pikmin#Jack-o.27-Lantern|Jack-o'-Lantern]] Decor Pikmin from the [[Event/Decor Pikmin events#2022 Halloween Event|2022 Halloween Event]] were also available to obtain from Seedlings from [[#Mystery Boxes|Mystery Boxes]].

* This Event Challenge introduced [[#Event Currency|Event Currency]] to the Event Challenge system. The design of Event Currency for this event was ''Halloween Candy''.

* Both old and new Halloween-themed [[Mii]] costumes were added to the [[shop]].  

* Special Mission Tickets were available in for purchase in the [[shop]], which unlocked a bonus mission when purchased. Once completed, players were able to choose which type of Jack-o'-Lantern or Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin a special Colored Gold Seedling was rewarded for, depending on which ticket was purchased.

* An Event Challenge Special Pack and Halloween Gift Boxes for sending to friends were also available in the shop.

* The Premium Event Pass was available for {{icon|Coin}} 999 coins in the [[shop]] and featured the same perks as usual.  

** This Event Challenge introduced two changes to the Premium Event Pass that stayed for all future Event Challenges. Players [[Level#Pikmin Bloom|Level 20]] and above were now able to purchase the pass, instead of Level 50, and purchasing the pass within the first week of the Event Challenge granted high amounts of Event Currency as a bonus.

* [[Mushroom battle#Halloween mushrooms|Halloween mushrooms]] were reintroduced, coming in both "Normal" and "Giant" sizes. Jack-o'-Lantern Decor Pikmin had a much higher attack power than other Pikmin, and Halloween Treat Decor Pikmin had an even higher attack power. All mushrooms were converted to these mushrooms at the start of the event, and continued to appear throughout the event.

* On most weekends during the Event Challenge, Giant Halloween Mushroom appeared. When defeated, they dropped a Rare Mystery Box.

* Defeating a Halloween mushroom would grant the player a [[#Mystery Boxes|Mystery Box]] once completed, using the Halloween Mystery Box designs.

** Rewards from Mystery Boxes consisted of [[#Event Currency|Event Currency]] or [[Seedling]]s for Jack-o'-Lantern Decor Pikmin.

** [[Postcard]]s obtained from destroying Halloween Mushrooms featured special Halloween themed background and stamp designs.

There were two sets of Puzzle Decor Pikmin, named Puzzle: 2022 Summer Memories and Puzzle: 2021 Fall Memories.

** Gingerbread Cookies could be obtained by completing Event Challenge Missions, as bonuses for the Premium Event Pass, from flower planting (1 cookie every 100 flowers), from Mystery Boxes, and from the Event Challenge Special Pack.

* An Event Challenge with missions that rewarded nectar, [[Seedling|Gold Seedlings]], Gingerbread Cookies, and other items was introduced.

** The Event Premium Pass was available for users from [[Level#Pikmin Bloom|Lv20]] onward.

** The Event Pass included 500 Gingerbread Cookies if purchased within the first week of the event.

* Mitten Decor Pikmin were stronger in mushroom battles (gained a 25-point strength bonus).

This event resembled the 2023 New Years Event, with a new decor category of "2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin" released. It followed the already established roulette rounds model, with rewards varying between the usual petals, gold or huge event seedlings, freemium items, and the event currency "Party Poppers". Party Poppers were also rewarded for planting flowers (at a rate of 1 poppers per 100 flowers planted) and for clearing mushrooms. Giant Mystery mushrooms were  guaranteed to drop 150 Party Poppers, while all other mushrooms dropped 60, 70, 80, 150, or something else, like [[mushroom recharge ticket]]s. All mushrooms destroyed would drop some kind of mystery box rewards. Giant Mystery mushrooms appeared on three weekends during the event (Jan 13/14, Jan 20/21 and Jan 27/28). As usual, the 2024 Glasses Decor Pikmin would be much more effective against all Mystery mushrooms than any other Pikmin.

The event currency for this event was 'Red Envelopes'. Gold seedlings from regular missions hatched into "Lunar New Year Ornament: Red" Decor Pikmin, some of which were also available in 2022 and 2023. Gold seedlings from event missions (see table below) grew into "Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold" Decor Pikmin, some of which were also available in 2023. Special Lunar New Year Mushrooms in red and gold colors granted Mystery Boxes when destroyed. Both types of Lunar New Year Ornament Decor Pikmin were particularly powerful against them, as well as being slightly stronger against all mushrooms.

Giant Lunar New Year Mushrooms carried a rare type of Mystery Box. They appeared on three weekends throughout the event (February 10/11, 17/18 and 24/25).

 

Mii outfits sold in the shop boosted the number of Red Envelopes obtained from flower planting when worn by 30%, and Head items (either Plum blossom hairpins or Small perching pandas) sold in the shop or earned from the event missions granted an additional 20% boost.
