Once the battle starts, the Bulblord will start walking towards the players, and will do one of three attacks during its first phase. One attack involves the biting of any players near its mouth. Another attack involves the retraction of its legs and weakpoints and rolling from side-to-side across the stage, much like the [[Empress Bulblax]]. The last attack the Bulblord will do during its first phase will be rushing in a straight line similar to the [[Pikmin Adventure enemies#Bulborb|Bulborb]].
 
During the second phase, the Bulblord will only attack either with its roll or with a combination of the bite and rush attacks that functions similar to the [[Pikmin Adventure enemies#Green Bulborb|Green Bulborb]]'s homing charge.

Bulblord is an incredibly-large Mecha Bulborb that has weak spots all over him, but his bulk and attack speed making attacking him difficult.  
 
It is advised to use a strategy similar to the one used to defeat the [[Pikmin Adventure enemies#Bilious Bulborb|Bilious Bulborb]], as getting it to turn around in single player is hard; simply have the [[Mii]] [[Olimar]] player run behind it, causing it to turn around to attack them. While still dodging its attacks, get the other Mii Pikmin players to attack its weak points.
 
After all of the weak points have been destroyed, it will gain 2 new ones on its knees. It is best to use the distracting method to aim at these, as the Bulblord will begin to move much faster once these are exposed.
 
Once both of the weak points on the legs are destroyed, it will helplessly roll onto its back, revealing its final weak point on its underbelly. Simply throw all your Pikmin onto the weak point before the fight is over.
 
Even though the Bulblord's eyes are able to be destroyed alongside the other weak points, destroying them will not contribute to the fight in any way aside from rewarding the player with a stamp, the ''Eyes of the Bulblord''.
