The treasure's name consists of "activity", referring in this case to recreational pursuits or pastimes, and "arouser", meaning something that excites or provokes. The treasure seems to evoke excitement and the desire to exercise for Olimar and the Hocotate ship, which fits the connotation of a Wilson tennis ball lid. "Arouse" often has the connotation of being sexually excited, which is probably why the name was changed to Activity Booster in the European version of ''[[New Play Control! Pikmin 2]]''.
Internally, the treasure has different names based on region, since it occurs in different locations. In the US version, the Activity Arouser has the internal name <code>g_futa_nihonraku</code>, "futa" translating to "lid" and "nihonraku" translating roughly to "Japan music" (it is unknown what "g" refers to). The US treasure occurs in the same location as the [[Anywhere Floater]], a Mainichi-brand milk cover in the Japanese version.
