Frozen Hazard (雪と氷の暴れん坊?, lit.: "Snow and Ice Ruffians") is the fourth main area in the Snowfall Field. The navigation in this area revolves around the various Blubbugs, since Captain Olimar will have to dodge some of them, in order to avoid being bumped into pits, and will have to use others as trampolines to climb to new places.

Description[edit]

Just like the other areas of the Snowfall Field, this area is made of snow and ice, and takes place in a snowy environment. A lot of Blubbugs can be found in this area, and they serve as springboards for Captain Olimar and his Pikmin, in order for them to make progress in the area. But, even if these enemies seem harmless and useful, the player must be careful with them, because they can push Olimar and/or his Pikmin into one of the many pits of the area. In this area, the player can find two treasures, the first being the Zoo of the Future, which can be accessed by jumping on some Blubbugs. The second treasure is the Unremarkable Spinner, which is found near the end of the area. To retrieve it, the player must use a pulley rock in order to free a Blubbug, which can be used to jump higher in the area, and go in the direction of the treasure.

Cutscenes[edit]

Cutscene Screenshot Trigger Description
Trapped Pikmin The trapped Pikmin cutscene in the Frozen Hazard. The player climbs up the first vine and advances forward. Two Red Pikmin are buried under the snow, with their upper bodies up. Two other Red Pikmin show up, notice their trapped friends, and start pulling them out. They eventually succeed in plucking each one from the snow, and celebrate right after. One of the Pikmin then notices Olimar to the left, they all turn to Olimar's direction, and then race off to meet him.
Snowball The snowball cutscene in the Frozen Hazard. After climbing up a vine and being ambushed by three Sparrowheads, the player advances forward. Four Red Pikmin are walking on a snowy pathway, and notice a snowball coming their way. They try to run away from it, but get mowed down by it anyway, and roll away with the ball until it falls off a ledge, lands on the floor, and collapses, throwing the Pikmin to the floor. They eventually get up and shake their heads.
Snowman The snowman cutscene in the Frozen Hazard. After the climb where the player dodges Blubbugs using vines, the player enters the doorway, comes out the other side, and advances a bit forward. There is a snowman next to Olimar, rocking gently back and forth. Eventually, it bursts open with three Red Pikmin jumping out, leaving only half of the bottom snowball. One Pikmin is stuck inside that snowball, though, with its legs in the air. The three Pikmin jump into the snow, causing it to shatter and free their friend. That Pikmin eventually gets up, shakes its head, and looks at the trio.
